Congressional Subpeona Defied Again

On Thursday, July 31 the House Oversight and Government Reform subcommittee (the Subcommittee on National Security and Foreign Affairs) held an oversight hearing on sexual assault in the military.

One of the witnesses subpoenaed to testify was Dr. Kaye Whitley. She is the Director of Sexual Assault and Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO), a branch of the Department of Defense.

She didn't show up.

Apparently, her commanding officer, Principal Deputy Undersecretary of Defense Micheal Dominguez, was told by his commanding officers to order her not to show up. We don't know why.

Watch this video for more details on the hearing, including video of Micheal Dominguez's piss poor reason for ordering someone to break the law.

I think it's time for another sternly worded letter.

Of course, if the Dems actually WOULD do something like arrest someone who refused to show up, that means Obama would lose 10 million votes, so they can't do that.

A nation of jokers.

I actually think it will be another useless "contempt of Congress" charge. That is the only thing threatened by the Congresmmen in their video. Miers, Bolton, and Rove have all be held in contempt of Congress... I don't see them testifying.

I just don't get how the reality Congress lives in is so different from the reality of the rest of us.

Or maybe it's all a sick joke and they're all in on it. A Congress of jokers.
